Research Awards

Audience and producer engagement with immersive worlds, July 2007-June 2008

The AHRC/BBC funded study looks at the reception and production of immersive media for 7-12 year olds with Adventure Rock, an immersive gaming world for CBBC, as the case study. The research uses creative methods with 95 children in Scotland, Wales, N Ireland and England to explore natural imaginative play and engagement with immersive media. Observation of the BBC Childrens Interactive production department over six months provides additional data.
