Biography

Vlatka Hlupic is a Professor of Business and Management, Director of the Emergent Leadership and Development research group and Director of the Executive Coaching and Leadership Development Programme at Westminster Business School. She received a PhD in Information Systems at the London School of Economics, as well as Dipl Econ. and an MSc in Information Systems from the University of Zagreb. She has published over 150 articles in journals (including Harvard Business Review), books and conference proceedings mainly in the area of leadership, knowledge management, business process change and business process modelling. Vlatka is an associate editor, a guest editor and a member of Editorial Boards for a number of international journals.

Due to an international recognition of her work, Vlatka's biography has been published in numerous international directories. Vlatka has a multi-disciplinary interests and background. She is a Certified Master Coach, Licenced Master NLP Practitioner, Psychological Kinesiology Practitioner, Co-Chairman of the Academic Advisory Board of the Behavioural Coaching Institute and a selected member of the Round Table Scholar programme, one of the world's preeminent consortia of consulting professors.

In addition to her mainstream academic work, Vlatka has a substantial interest in personal development, executive coaching and leadership development, and she has obtained training in areas such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Executive Coaching, Psychological Kinesiology and Educational Kinesiology, having the privilege of being trained by well known personal development experts such as Anthony Robbins, Paul McKenna, Richard Bandler and Dr Susanne Cook-Greuter. Her research in these areas is regularly reported at her private blog posted at her business website.

Research

Vlatka's multidisciplinary research interests include emergent leadership approaches in knowledge organisations, knowledge management, complexity, business process modelling, personal and professional development and executive coaching.

Consultancy and professional practice

Vlatka has been acting as a consultant for a variety of manufacturing and service companies, as well as having held a variety of research and lecturing posts in England, Holland and Croatia. She has been also coaching executives at the most senior levels in the public and private sectors. She has presented her work at over 50 international conferences, and has given numerous invited talks at various national and international meetings. Vlatka has been also acting as an expert adviser for a variety of research projects including projects sponsored by the Croatian, German and Thai Governments.
