Corporate Social Responsibility
Our approach
The University of Westminster’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme reflects our commitment to operate in an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible manner.
Sustainable development is at the core of this programme. This means that we aim to pursue our economic, environmental and social goals as one.
The CSR programme has five pillars
- Environment
- Community
- Workplace
- Marketplace
- Learning, teaching and research
The University of Westminster’s CSR programme is underpinned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England’s (HEFCE)'s vision of sustainable development in the sector:
"Within the next ten years, the higher education sector in this country will be recognised as a major contributor to society's efforts to achieve sustainability - through the skills and knowledge that its graduates learn and put into practice, its research and exchange of knowledge through business, community and public policy engagement, and through its own strategies and operations.”
From developing our infrastructure in an environmentally sustainable way to considering the effect of our activities on the local community, we aim to improve our CSR performance across all areas of the University.
These webpages provide detailed information on our CSR policies and how we monitor, measure and report on our activities. If you have any further questions about this content, please contact Organisational Development Advisor - CSR, Andy Norris.
